2026 Photo Contest - Rules, Specifications and Categories

2026 ATWOOD FALL FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST
This year marks the 16th Annual Photo Contest at the Atwood Area Fall Festival, scheduled for October 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th, at beautiful Atwood Lake Park, in Mineral City, Ohio. The contest is managed by the local amateur
photo club, Focus Point. Entrants should use their best photography skills to compete in the following
categories as defined below.
Categories:
1. Urbex: Short for urban exploration, this style involves capturing images of abandoned, derelict,
and forgotten structures, focusing on decay, history, and atmosphere. You might also find these
structures in rural locations.

2. Minimalism: A style focused on simplicity, using few elements, such as clean lines, shapes, or
color to create an impactful, uncluttered image. It emphasizes "less is more," often utilizing
negative space, stark contrast, and composition, allowing the subject to stand out.
3. Pet Photography: Show your most creative or best photograph of your pet animal.
Enter as a Youth or Adult – Those age 17 and under and may enter in the Youth Category. Those ages 18 or
older should enter the Adult Category.
Entry Fee: $4.00 per photograph entered (cash only) limit of 3 photos per person; one in each category.
Rules and Specifications:
Photograph entries must have been taken by the entrant, using a camera or cell phone.
Minimal digital editing is acceptable (such as adjusting color, contrast, sharpness, cropping, etc.).
Please restrict the overall size to no larger than 11” x 14” (including mat).
Photos must be mounted on stiff backer board, foamboard, or matted. No glass or frames, please.
Please place your name, contact information, and category entered on the back of each photo. Do NOT tape
your entry form to the back of the photo, but instead give it to the intake person.
Photographers should complete an entry form (below) and submit it with their labeled photo(s) and cash
entry fee, at the Weaver “Photo Barn,” located in Camp Area H, across from the restrooms, on Thursday,
October 1st between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., or make prior arrangements for early drop-off with a Focus Point
member (see contact information below).
Winners will be awarded ribbons for first, second, and third places.
Every effort will be made to ensure the safety and security of all submitted photographs. However, neither
Focus Point, nor the Atwood Fall Festival Committee, nor the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District will
be liable for any damages to submitted photos.
Retrieval of photographs will be on Sunday, October 4th, between 3:00 p.m. and the festival closing time of
5:00 p.m., unless you make other arrangements with a Focus Point member.
